European Commission’s EMAS Awards 2017 – Declared!

    The EMAS awards are Europe's the most prestigious sustainability awards event.

    The theme for the 2017 edition of the EMAS Awards was 'Contributing to making the European economy more circular'. It rewarded organisations which took steps to make their operations or business model more resource efficient, for instance by redesigning products to increase lifetime or reducing waste.

    New CEO guide to circular economy released

    On 5 June 2017, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) released its CEO Guide to the Circular Economy. The Guide – developed in cooperation with Accenture and signed by 14 CEOs from companies including Unilever, Danone and Tata – aims to give CEOs and business leaders the tools they need to implement circular economy principles.

    Global Health, media, climate leadership among trends shaping 2017

    How 25 countries rank on food sustainability

    The Food Sustainability Index was created as a quantitative and qualitative benchmarking model, constructed from 58 indicators that measure the sustainability of food systems across three themes: Food Loss and Waste, Sustainable Agriculture, and Nutritional Challenges.
